Ecovado (Pty) Ltd is a South African avocado processing and value-addition company based in Dovheni Village, Limpopo.
We were founded with a simple but powerful belief: the value of Africa’s agricultural resources should be created as close as possible to the communities where those resources are grown.
Instead of allowing avocados that do not meet the cosmetic requirements of the fresh-fruit market to go to waste, Ecovado transforms them into high-value products, beginning with premium avocado oil and expanding into innovative products derived from the fruit, seed and other by-products.
Located close to avocado-growing communities, our processing facility creates a direct link between farmers, processing, product development and markets. We source avocados from commercial growers and local farmers while creating opportunities for emerging growers to participate in the avocado value chain.
Our goal is bigger than producing avocado oil.

As we grow, we want the communities surrounding our factory to grow with us.The pulp is used for oil production, while seeds and other processing by-products are explored for applications including seed powder, agricultural inputs and other value-added products.
Our long-term objective is to move towards a circular, low-waste avocado processing model in which what was previously considered waste becomes a new resource.
